Connecting a Shure BLX4 SM58 Wireless microphone to MacBook / PC
I am not really clued up on these things so forgive me if this is clearly moronic.

I have s Shure BLX4 wireless Microphone receiver which I am trying to connect to a MacBook Pro 13" Touch Bar to record audio. After researching this is the point where I am at

I am using a TRRS microphone/headphone splitter which is connecting to the Macbook
From the wireless receiver I have connected an 6.5' audio jack that has three connectors, this is going into 6.5 to 3.5 stereo adaptor which is then connected to the microphone in part of the splitter. I have tested this connection to a speaker and it is working.
On the audio side of the splitter I have tried connecting Apple EarPods and also connecting via stereo aux cable to a speaker
-Both methods have not caused the MacBook to recognise the Microphone as external.

I do have a 3.5 mono jack which I have and am wanting to cut and solder cables from the 6.5 stereo cable to this however I am worried this wont work. We are also on lockdown so I'm not able to purchase anything else at this point.
