How do you compose specific themes?
I like to sometimes compose my own songs by just hitting keys on the piano until a tune comes out, then making similar notes to lengthen the song. But the tunes I get are not that good, and for some reason they all sound gloomy. How can I write something good, and how can I write something not sad? I'm specifically trying to write a more imposing anthem kind of thing.

It appears that you haven't much idea about which notes go with which other notes - you're hitting keys at random in the hope that something good will come out. You can speed the whole process up by learning about scales and the chords that fit with them.
At the same time, you'll start to understand why certain notes sound good in sequence, and also the same with chords. And similarly, why some just don't work together. Thus saving an awful lot of time.
As always, a teacher will short-circuit this even more. But to explain what you need to do will take a lot more space than we have available to answer questions!
