Looking for story that deliberately overused "get"
It was in Writer's Digest, probably the early 1980s, when I saw this. One of the regular columnists (or was it an irregular columnist?) went on a brief rant about careless writers overusing the word "get" and its brethren. The he presented a very short story that deliberately overused "get" and "got" as an absurd example. It ended with "someone told a joke but I didn't get it."
I've tried to find that story online and in university libraries, but no luck. Does anyone recognize this? I could be wrong about where I saw it or the likely years I saw it.
