Why fetal hemoglobin is increased in beta thalassemia?
So my current understanding is that due to the decrease in beta globin there is a compensatory increase in HbA2 ( which has delta globin) and HbF ( which has gamma globin) so the question is, why is there is a greater increase in the HbF over HbA2? Why is there a preference for the synthesis of HbF ?
