Is there any systematic evidence whether (US style) parks lead to the spread of respiratory illnesses?
New York City apparently took the somewhat controversial decision to keep its parks open during this Covid-19 outbreak, although quite a few in-door recreational facilities were closed, as were playgrounds.
Now "parks" can be configured in quite a few ways, and US style parks are lot more "wild" than French style parks. With this distinction in mind, have any studies been conducted whether parks (preferably of the US style) have been a factor (or not) in spreading any prior respiratory epidemics?
