Conventional, valid and common scar laser treatments "scarring side effect"
I understand that scar laser treatments are used to treat generally flat scars which are scars that aren't:

Athrophic scars (sunken scars)
Hypertrophic scars (ridgy scars)
Include parts of both types (if it's even possible)

I understand that a right amount of laser shots in a right wavelength/s have two effects:

Primary effect: Further flattening of the generally flat scar (resurfacing)
Secondary (possible?) effect: Inducing skin rejuvenation at least at the peripheral areas of the scar that are adjacent to "regular" skin (I didn't find the opposite of "scar" in a quick Google search)

From reading accessible data throughout the web I understand that a possible side effect of conventional valid and common scar laser treatments is "scarring", but it is not clear to me if this is a hypertrophic scar or just a legal defensive terminology ? of course it is likely that a new scar cell will replace one destroyed by laser, but
does this "scarring" side effect terminology refers to hypertrophic scarring or to something else and if so, to what?
