Generally, during scaling, pain or sensitivity is felt at times when plaque is extensive.
In those cases doctors may give local anaesthesia to subside that pain/sensitivity while the procedure is still going.
Is it important to tell the dentist that one has pain even under local anesthetic? The alternative being to suffer the pain and possibly avoid some complications from an extra anesthetic dose.
