What would be a good substitute for the wine? I do not know what to do with wine I have never cooked with it and I wouldn't use enough of it to make it worth buying some.

Slow Cooker Garlic Chicken

Ingredients

1/2 cup fat-free, low-sodium chicken broth (certified gluten-free if necessary)
3 tablespoons dry white wine
2 tablespoons cognac
1 (3 1/3-pound) whole chicken, skinned and cut into 8 pieces
1 1/2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
40 garlic cloves, peeled (about 4 whole heads)
2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
4 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
