No. For 2020 the ,500 contribution limit is how much you, the employee, can elect to defer into your 401k from your wages. If you're 50 or older, you can defer an additional ,500 for a personal total of ,000.

Your employer can make contributions to your account such that your combined contributions do not exceed ,000 (or ,500 if you're 50+.)

The IRS spells out contribution limits. It can get a little complicated if you have multiple plans or employers.
