Will taking casein protein before bed negatively or positively affect you during a cutting phase
A lot of fat loss or cutting routines may mention no bedtime snacking.. but there is a lot of positive research regarding casein at night, helping blood sugar and preserving muscle mass. Most articles I can find don't mention it in terms of a cutting routine, where having a protein that slowly digests 4-6 hours or more keeps your body completely away from any fasting periods where your body runs out of carbs and turns to fat/muscle to burn(bedtime to breakfast). Several factors such as metabolism, natural fasting periods(from bedtime until breakfast),insulin sensitivity can play into this..
My main question is can I take casein protein at bedtime and is it positive or negative in terms of preservation of muscle and fat loss? I'm also curious about drinking casein throughout the day in general?
